Mike comes up with the greatest ideas for these illustrations!
This was fairly easy to put together, but I tried a different paper with the ink pens and I'm not thrilled with the results. I had used 120# watercolor paper for "Resolution" a couple of weeks back and had liked the results. But I ran out of that paper and just used what I have available which is 140# watercolor paper (different brand as well). It's too textured for ink pens. But I'm guessing it's going to look great with actual watercolor paints or pencils.
I never completed a course in studio arts, despite several attempts. As a result, a lot of what I'm creating is done by trial-and-error. So, bear with me as I explore this wonderful new-again world! Hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do!
Addendum: My technological spasms are acting up again, and I'm not getting the picture to post to IF. As always, though, I will keep trying!

Poor chicken! Okay, so I'm curious. How did Mike come up with this idea?
ReplyDeleteI vaguely recall taking an art (drawing, specifically) class in middle school. I couldn't even draw a vase. Was so frustrated. If I'm correct, think I dropped the class for a language. :-)
Nice illustration!

I have no idea how he comes up with the ideas. He had one for Chloe for "Resolution", except that he shortened it to "Resolve": A puppy that just had an accident and a bottle of, yep, you guessed it, Resolve carpet cleaner nearby. Unfortunately, she never finished it, though.
ReplyDeleteHe's just wonderfully wierd, that's all. = )
